During the excavations in Aphrodisias in 1904-1905, amateur archaeologist French Paul Gaudin sent some of the artifacts he found in the area called Hadrian's Baths to the Istanbul Archeology Museum. The other part is sold or smuggled abroad. Dedicated to Aphrodisias, Prof. Kenan Erim finds the head of an old fisherman with a length of 33 cm and a weight of 5 kg. Its body is in the Berlin Museum. The legendary Elder Fisherman bust reveals the silhouette of a hunched life-size old man in a skinny, torn loincloth.
