The Athlete Throwing Discus, also known as Discobolus, is a sculpture completed by Myron in Greece during the classical period. The original of the bronze work, which depicts a young Greek athlete throwing a discus, is lost. The statue, which has survived thanks to the copies found in Rome, it has been depicting dynamism, movement and anatomical perfection for 450 years.
